TAYABAS CITY, July 27 – In a joint observance of Nutrition Month and Disaster Risk Reduction Month, the Rotaract Club of Lucena South (RACLS) conducted its latest community outreach initiative, “G3+G: Go, Grow, Glow (+Go!)”, at Malao-a/Calantas Elementary School in Tayabas City. The project reached 65 students and actively engaged parents and teachers in discussions on health, nutrition, and disaster preparedness.

Students, parents, and teachers listen attentively as the Rotaract Club of Lucena South leads an engaging discussion on the importance of Go, Grow, and Glow foods for healthy growth and learning.

Welcomed by School Principal Elpidia Palayan, the program began with an engaging nutrition talk led by Club Secretary Claude, who explained the Go, Grow, and Glow food groups in simple and relatable terms. Students learned the importance of eating a balanced and nutritious diet to support their growth, development, and academic performance.

With 65 students reached, “G3+G” brought together families, educators, and volunteers in a shared commitment to children’s health, preparedness, and holistic development.

Meanwhile, Past President Vincent conducted a live cooking demonstration for parents featuring a healthy and budget-friendly recipe—Cheesy Malunggay Chicken Nuggets. The session emphasized the use of locally available and affordable ingredients in preparing nutritious meals at home. Parents were encouraged to ask questions and share their own experiences, making the discussion both informative and interactive.

Blending education with action, the live cooking demonstration reinforced practical ways parents can promote better nutrition at home while strengthening family resilience.

In line with Disaster Risk Reduction Month and in preparation for the upcoming typhoon season, RACLS also donated raincoats, solar-powered emergency lights, and first aid kits to the school. These supplies were intended not only for students but also for teachers and community leaders who play vital roles in emergency response during natural disasters.
