The “Takbo Kontra Polio” fun run event was a resounding success, drawing 169 enthusiastic runners who participated in the 3KM and 5KM runs. The day began with an energetic Zumba warm-up session, setting an exciting tone that carried throughout the event. Every detail— from registration to the finish line — reflected the team’s careful planning, ensuring smooth coordination, efficient medical and security arrangements, and an overall safe experience for everyone.

Two sponsor booths, Adas Pamatmat Store and Bangbrews, added to the festive atmosphere with their vibrant displays and engaging activities. A stage was set up for the program, complemented by event tarpaulins and a large “Support End Polio” signing wall, where participants proudly wrote messages of solidarity. Medals were awarded to finishers, and certificates of appreciation were presented to sponsors and partners, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the cause.

The event successfully met its objectives: raising awareness about polio vaccination, fundraising for Rotary International’s PolioPlus Program, and strengthening community engagement. The presence of Rotary Club members, along with the distribution of educational materials, helped inform participants and spectators alike about the ongoing fight to eradicate polio. Proceeds from registration fees and sponsorships will directly support Rotary’s global initiative to end this preventable disease.

The success of “Takbo Kontra Polio” stands as a testament to the impact of community-driven efforts and the power of collaboration. The event brought together individuals from all walks of life, promoting not only physical fitness but also a shared sense of purpose and social responsibility.

Beyond the medals and prizes, what truly shone through was the spirit of volunteerism, compassion, and unity — a reflection of what Rotaract and Rotary stand for. Each step taken by the 169 runners symbolized hope for a polio-free world. Indeed, the event’s success is proof that when communities unite for a common goal, real and lasting change happens.
