A Magical Chapter in Strengthening Cebuano Camaraderie

The more we connect, the more we can do and achieve things together – and that is the kind of connectivity and network the Rotaract Club of Cebu gained in the early months of the Irresistibly Magical Year as it is now accredited under the Youth Organizations Registration Program (YORP) of the National Youth Commission and with the Cebu City Youth Development Office (CCYDO).

The successful conduct of ANDAM! Academy organized by the Cebu Council of Rotaract Clubs, the Rotaract Club of Cebu, and the Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuente – University of San Carlos would not be possible without the support of the Cebu City Government, Cebu City Youth Development Office (CCYDO) and Local Youth Development Council (CCLYDC) in providing this venue, the 4th Floor Social Hall of Cebu City Hall, where Rotaractors can safely and seamlessly conduct this event.

These accreditations create strong interdependence between government and non-government organizations. They are a testament to an expanded pursuit of serving more youth (YOs) and youth-serving organizations (YSOs) in the Queen City of the South. These strides included a seat in the Cebu City Local Youth Development Council (CCLYDC), with RAC Cebu’s Assistant Secretary Emil Joshua Pugosa representing as a council member and the club being the only organization in CCLYDC under civic/professional organizations (CPOs).

Expanding beyond its involvement in CCYDO-led initiatives, such as the Oplan Kalinisan City-wide River Cleanup at Tinago River on March 15, 2025, and the TREEByouth for Kalikopan Mangrove Planting on March 22, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Cebu continues to foster meaningful collaborations. Through strong alliances with key YOs and YSOs, members have made their mark in symposiums and training sessions aimed at capacity-building and youth empowerment. One of its most notable partnerships, ANDAM! Academy, a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) training for Cebu Council Rotaractors, was a testament to the power of coordinated efforts. The seamless collaboration with the Cebu City Hall Social Hall as the event venue underscored the club’s commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness within the youth sector.

Rotaract Club of Cebu and CCYDO proved that collaborations expand possibilities for a shared commitment to service and potential. This trend will only grow and develop as more activities are in store for Cebu City’s youth through this synergistic working partnership.
