“There is no best starting point. What matters more is how you navigate and allow yourself to flourish wherever you are,” a highlighted quote from a speech delivered by Mr. Anthony Al Duran, an invited speaker for the recently conducted USC Accountancy and Business Convention. A huge number of Rotaractors from the University of San Carlos were greatly inspired by that impactful talk from him. From his talk, we can say that the future holds promises and dreams for the youth that can be achieved through hard work, dedication, planning, education, and words of wisdom.
In line with Rotaract’s future, I see it still in the hands of inspired young professionals who continue on uplifting its vision, mission, and goals toward the greater good. A step closer to creating a world wherein people unite and take action to create lasting change. We must remember that in order to properly achieve lasting change, there should be constant commitment towards maintaining and improving it. In order to achieve this, the presence of the Rotaract Club should still be felt at all times, and handled by inspired young professionals.
I define young professionals as the youth who have dreams and aspirations locked in as they are willfully brave in life. They are the youth who are able to see the bigger picture, think comprehensively, see every angle, and not be fake news peddlers. Ever since Rotary was founded in 1905, the world has changed so much like demographics and it iis happening faster as technology has opened up new possibilities for interaction and service. However, still remains the need for the ideals that make up Rotary—fellowship, ethics, diversity, service, and leadership—hasn’t altered. These young professionals will be the youth who can respect the past while embracing the future with a new strategy developed while maintaining Rotary’s vitality.
The Rotaract Club aims to expand its reach in order to deliver impact and change as it enhances participant engagement. Such a goal is only feasible with the sheer will and determination of the club’s members thus increasing the necessity for them for its entire duration. The issues that Rotary and the entire globe face are openly discussed, arguing the value of interpersonal ties in the technological age and providing a path for bringing great ideas to the forefront of the world’s potential. With our world facing countless changes and emerging problems with each passing day, there is no other solution but to continue banding together towards braving them.
In the status quo, the world is currently being divided as we face global struggles, affecting almost everyone. If the club will not preserve and strengthen its inner aspect, it will also slowly corrode and dissolve as there are no more professional members to properly carry on the banner. Investing in relationships and making decisions grounded in evidence, the club needs its members to be professional at all times, learning from its endeavors in group projects, and aspirations.
The world has countless opportunities amidst all its problems. Rotaract should always exist with members full of wisdom and professionalism. As the club continues to help others, it should never forget to properly maintain itself and its people. What’s crucial here is where the success of the club lies at stake.
