Last January 22, 2022, the Rotaract Club of Laguna Bel-Air, along with its sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Laguna Bel-Air, together with Achiever of Excellence Toastmasters Club conducted a meet via the communication platform, Zoom, focused on the theme “Writing Your Speech and Selecting Your Topic” with the objective of bettering an individual’s speech-making and topic selection in hopes of expressing the best self of a person.

Included in the program is the Table Topics Session wherein, the participants impromptu communication skills are being challenge with the guide and help of the Table Topics Master and Table Topics Evaluator.

Distinguished Toastmaster and guest speaker Neb Perez guided over fifty participants in this short but meaningful session. Some noteworthy comments that DTM Perez had said were “The best way to win is by taking the first step or the basic step in crafting your speech” and “Crafting your speech is like riding a bicycle because you cannot let the bicycle run if you don’t know how to paddle your feet”.  So, the basic step is, to learn how to ride a bike (draft your speech, write your thoughts) and then on to your journey. You will eventually enhance your skills and just like a bike, you can create many tricks on it”.

Our Guest Speaker, Distinguished Toastmaster Neb Perez sharing his expertise and knowledge about crafting speeches and selecting your topic.

“This educational webinar is very timely and relevant because as a leader, we need to speak confidently in front of many people because our main goal is to influence them. Only then will we have the power to sway them and then serve to change lives”, said Carlo Joquino, Rotaract Club of Laguna Bel-Air’s Changemaker President.

On the other hand, Rotary International is working with Toastmasters International to provide opportunities in expanding networks, leadership and communication skills, as well as an individual’s impact within the community. This collaboration will enhance your membership experience through professional development opportunities and creating connections to another club.
